Delivered in collaboration with the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, this immersive in-person program meets the needs of mid and senior level professionals.
Facilitated by industry experts from across Canada, their unique perspectives on real estate development will provide learners with a realistic and practical understanding of the complexities of real estate development in Canada and beyond.
Participants learn alongside a peer group of professionals with similar goals and interests, with exclusive access to the University of Calgary’s Westman Centre for Real Estate Studies (WCRES).
The certificate is structured to provide a strong understanding of five core subject areas and two electives. Learners select from a variety of elective courses based on their area of practice and interests. Successful learners achieve a Real Estate Development Leadership Certificate (REDL).

Haskayne School of Business Executive Education designs and delivers business leadership development programs for professionals, custom programs for organizations and executive programs for Boards of Directors. Programs focus on delivering practical business concepts and developing strong leadership proficiency to achieve real, sustainable results and a high return on investment.
Established in 2013 at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business, the vision of the Westman Centre for Real Estate Studies is to be a catalyst for the development of real estate industry professionals and a leading centre of excellence for real estate studies. The Westman Centre is focused on developing leaders for Alberta’s entrepreneurial real estate industry through its teaching, research and community engagement activities.

Experiential Development Site Tour
The site tours put theory into practice. Learners experience the realities of an active project and observe how their learning outcomes apply in the real world. Meet industry leaders on-site and observe unique stages of the development process.
Virtual Capstone Project Presentations
Collaborate with co-learners on an applied project that draws on course learnings. Receive robust feedback from instructors on project presentation.
Each course ranges from 2-3 weeks, depending on the specific schedule. This condensed schedule allows:

The REDL program is designed to meet the busy-schedules of mid and senior level professionals who seek to complete the certificate across 18-months. However, learners may choose to complete the program (7 total courses) over a shortened or adjusted time frame.
